I will squeeze the citrus prior to our event, and then you will have your choice of spicy or regular margaritas. For dessert, Almond Tequila. Yeah, it's super good!!!

1st Dinner Club

I am bound and determined to turn the pig heads into Pozole. Im thinking that turns to first Dinner clubs theme into a authentic mexican experience minus the corruption, drug lords and horrible digestive bugs. So break out the Molcajetes ladies and gentlemen, its fiesta time!

Rick Bayless has been making the case for years through his books, shows, and business plan that Mexican flavors are delicious and versatile. The basic premise as I humbly understand it is that while we normally think of mexican food as street food best served out of food carts or in some late night drunken Americanized version of fast food, that the flavor profiles and unique ingredients have a level of sophistication and complexity when handled with a little TLC and more importantly, respect. So lets do the Top Chef master proud with the inaugural Dinner club meeting. Traditional accompaniments would range from Napolitos salads, to Moles, to Tamales, to anything in a Veracruz sauce, and so on, but please don't bring something like a hard shell taco that you would never actually be able to eat in Mexico.

One more thing, no Donkey show! Rich i'm talking to you!

Dear Portland Food Lover,
We welcome you to PDX Dinner Club! Because of your impeccable taste, we invite you to participate in a Once a Month gathering to share your favorite recipes with other local foodies...

Please become a member of this blog to:

1) Share your favorite recipes
2) Share info about your favorite / new restaurant in town
2) Host a PDX Dinner Club (last friday of every month)

Dinner Club will be held the last Friday of every month hosted by one of the members of this elite group. Membership will be limited to no more than 15 people at any time. You must host at least once to be in Dinner Club. The host will be responsible for selecting the evenings theme, and the other members will select an item to bring for the evening.

First up.... Pat and Heather utilizing the head and tail of Agnes and Richard's organic pig.... Pat, drum roll.... we are awaiting the description of the fist Dinner Club.....
